WHAT ON EARTH ?
earthMusic is an original and personal music library from
composer and guitarist, Al Lethbridge. It is intended for use by
Natural History, Science and Adventure filmmakers and the creators of
human stories of all kinds.
WHY ON EARTH ?
A challenge for today's filmmakers is that budgets and schedules can
often be too tight to allow for the commissioning of specially composed
music. The cutting room has to quickly find the right tracks out of the
millions available in online music libraries; the vast choice in these
libraries can feel overwhelming.
This is the challenge that earthMusic meets with a small, high quality
library that includes proven music from a selection of award winning
films. It also offers a high level of personal service that can help
the filmmaker navigate towards the right music for their production.
HOW ON EARTH ?
earthMusic comes on a single USB stick containing a simple
folder and playlist structure: 700 tracks are spread over seven main
categories.
These categories are designed to parallel the story arcs of documentary
and drama and have been informed and guided by Al's experience of
scoring over 200 films.
Directors, producers and film editors will be able to request continued
support from the composer: playlists made to a particular programme
brief, music editing, remixes, fit to picture. You have a hotline to
the composers studio!
You can get the earthMusic USB stick directly from the composer, or
request it using the contact form on this page. The library can also be downloaded -
contact us for details.
DOES IT COST THE EARTH ?
No! The USB is free. Licensing of tracks is simple and a one-off fee
will cover all necessary rights worldwide. Please get in touch.

"Al Lethbridge is an incredibly versatile & talented
musician. He's written the music for a number of our shows and always
produces fantastic scores. We've also used his extensive music library
which has been another very good way to work with his music. I'd
thoroughly recommend working with him."

COMPOSER STATEMENT
"This is not a 'me too' collection. It feels different in that the
tracks largely come from my film and TV scores - the pieces have a life
of their own. They develop in a way that is less formatted than
standard production music, encouraging exploration and serendipity.
Emotionally charged and cinematic - expect the unexpected!" AL
Lethbridge
